Being a Senior Data Scientist at Moov AI

As a senior data scientist in the AI solutions delivery team, you take pleasure in coding, supporting your clients, and assisting the rest of your team with more complex challenges. You understand what it takes to deliver an AI project, and you support your team in anticipating obstacles and implementing best development practices. You feel a personal satisfaction when the solution your team has designed is not only robust but also delivers value to the client.

You think about clients' business problems in their entirety and not just the algorithmic model – you can understand the whole solution for a complex problem with multiple dependencies. You are also capable of independently executing the majority of typical domain tasks while contributing to the resolution of complex problems that sometimes require a thorough and comprehensive analysis and understanding of all variables.

You contribute to the technical excellence of your delivery team colleagues by being the go-to person. Your colleagues naturally turn to you for technical assistance. You coach less experienced employees and assist your project manager in task breakdowns.

You actively contribute to process improvements with other seniors and do so autonomously. You propose solutions for the improvement and optimization of processes, programs, and work methods.

Daily Life at Moov AI

You typically work with data engineers, other data scientists, and an Agile project manager; you form a trio of expertise that supports a company on a project. Together, during the project, you evaluate the client's context and data to determine and define the expected impact; you then design a solution based on a model you create. Overall, you spend your time coding while advising and guiding your client and team members.

What you bring the team

At Moov AI, senior data scientists aim to deliver a solution that impacts the client's results. We are not theoretical.

• You are dynamic and flexible, able to easily adapt to the rapid changes in the AI industry. You excel in a constantly evolving environment and are ready to take on the challenges of a changing team and an innovative company!
• You demonstrate sufficient versatility to accommodate the client's technological environment.
• You have at least 7 years of direct experience with the various stages of the data science process, from the exploration phase to model deployment.
• Specifically, you understand the difference between designing algorithms for production versus designing algorithms for proof of concept.
• In this sense, unlike many theoretical applications of machine learning, you aim to have an impact on the client and do not focus on excessive optimization.
• Your experience, technical knowledge, and communication skills make you the go-to person for your team; in other words, your colleagues naturally turn to you for technical assistance.
• You can act as the technical pillar of your team, but you can also execute independently.
• If you are familiar with time series, forecasting, or NLP, it's an asset (but not a must).
• You are fluent in both French and English. You communicate well with your team, and you can simplify your expertise and decisions for a non-technical audience.
• Overall, you show resourcefulness, but you also know your limits and when to ask for help.
